D1 player here & I’ll say you’re absolutely right. The game has gotten to the point where I have to really on bridges, stepovers, elasticos etc because simple pass & move doesn’t work no more & it’s a shame because every game I’m basically defending skills moves against Mbappé, Ney, Joao & CR. Stopped playing weeks ago because I felt like I’m in a constant bullshit loop of doing the same stuff repeatedly (defending the same way & attacking the same way).
I think the goals have definitely dried up. In early patches , a tight match between 2 players of the same rating feels like it usually ends like somewhere between 4-4 to 7-7
These days, i think its more like 2-2 and i imagine after the patch it will be more like 1-1 like FIFA 20.
It’s unrealistic scores i know but i much prefer 4-4 than 1-1 draw.
But that’s what happens when you keep nerfing attacking and not providing any alternative attacking buff. Sure some of them are broken, but if you completely erase an option, you have to provide an alternative if you want to maintain the balance.
Just wait until they nerf skill moves and every game ends 0-0.
Then what will be left for people to complain about?
Since this last patch on Pc I’m really struggling to get past my opponents.
Also controlling the cdm’s 80% of the game is back.
I always run a serie a and there’s no other way to play but attacking. You either have to run a 3 back or 4 with balanced or join attack lb/rb to fight the meta. I do believe the step overs need a nerf but also ai blocks. They could easily counter the blocks by making keepers reliable. Id rather have a game where you’d have to beat the keeper then defending only for a “game moment” to happen.
If you play against someone of your level and who has similar playstyle to yours, then naturally you’ll have limited opportunities. I don’t have many problems playing in live friendlies and score quite a bit there. Same goes to WL, but once I get to G3+ matches and the closer I push to G1, the more closed up are the games. It just means that my opponents are of a similar skill level to mine and only one mistake is enough to lose the game.
Yes completely agree with everything you said! I’m a D1/G1 player and lately struggling so hard to even create chances for a shot. I’m not the best at finishing chances so this has created a massive problem for me. I can keep the ball well, but as soon as I get to their box it feels like I’m trying to run through a brick wall… which in turn makes me ‘skill and hope’.
The game has turned to who runs into the cb but glitches through and scores wins. Ai is way too strong, cbs are still tracking too many runs of your strikers while your opponent wants to catch you with his cdm. And even if the ai then doesnt track your strikers run, the through ball willbjust go to the keeper. People dont select their cbs at all and the ai defends for them like literally all the time, and now with literally all skill moves dead it will be even more boring than fifa 20. The skill gap becomes smaller and smaller with every patch this year.
I got Hierro and John Stones just to pack Varane today. Before then I used Gomez and Ramos. There are way too many cbs that are top tier usable that strong link to eachother. On the other hand there are very few from Serie A or the Bundesliga that fit the meta. Again EA just force us into using exclusively La Liga and Prem teams.
