Everyone wants, but they will never do it. Reasons:
1. It enabled faster trophy pushing.
2. It didn’t kill teaming, as expected by devs.
3. Kill stealing for trophies started.
4. Matchmakings of normal showdown player lovers increased

They removed it because it didn’t prevent teaming, which was the whole goal of the gamemode, and also to much trophies…
For everyone saying it gives to much trophies they could just make it so you get 1 trophies per kill

To be very honest, I despise the current showdown. During the SD+ period people would play Normally. Now there are fucking Maxes teaming in Dark passage annoying af

Didn’t Frank say that Showdown+ was an experiment to stop/reduce teaming? And that the data they gathered said that teaming stayed the same if not got higher?

I think the main reason they removed it is that you can get 16 or more trophies easily in one match

In total, Showdown+ gave 2 more trophies per match, so you’d get 0.2 additional trophies per match on average. That’s almost nothing.

The only way I could see it being back is if they made rank a non-factor. Like making it -10 if you die, +2 for every kill, and you would gain 0 trophies (exclding death and kills) regardless on whether you finish 1st or 10th.
