I find it ironic that they can’t put it in the patch notes but they post about it on forums after people complain. I mean, what did they think was going to be the reaction with their sly nerf/fix?
I agree with changing it though due to it being way over powered. No issue there. They just lost touch with the community and don’t know how to communicate with other humans anymore.
I think it’s BS. Actual game-breaking bugs out there, like duping, failed-to-lock-profile, survivors not loading or able to interact, and so on… those, they happily leave in unfixed.
But the second there’s something fun, useful, and completely harmless? Better nerf that shit immediately.
It’s so frustrating.
As already said the damage is back to being so low..
It’s not a perk compatible with end game
It had to be fixed but needed a re work..
A frustrating thing is they fixed this quickly but things like RTD not starting is still in the game
It shows they don’t care about fixing things that have been in the game for a lot longer and are more serious, like endurance crashes, failed to lock profile ect.
In my view it is that simple
STW players: farrah + vacuum tube bow this is fun.
Epic: this needs to be fixed immediately.
STW players: please fix the failed-to-lock-profile error
Epic: silence
STW players: spectral slash to get around the map, what fun
Epic: this needs to be fixed immediately
STW players: please Epic fix the team survivors bonuses, they are useless

STW players: how fun is war games, you get tickets, gold and perks, what good rewards
Epic: this must be fixed, we will render it useless
so we have a constant here, if it’s fun for the players it should be fixed

To say the least they’ve nerfed a ton of fun things like to use in the past, such as launcher traps, this affliction etc. In all honesty, it’s getting kinda tiring to see this happen quite often over fixing bugs alot of the time.

They lost my interest when the same logic was used for the Smasher changes and for those of us still doing Twine Endurance just now twisted of a decision that was.
I don’t know how a few ticks of 4500 damage would even consider as a weapon 6th perk for endgame player.
I get it, it was a bug it shouldn’t be infinite. But I thought as they’re fixing that bug they would consider making that perk a bit more decent. It became completely useless again.

I don’t see the issue here. Magyst summed it up perfectly:
A bug breaks the way damage sources proc perks
* caused affliction to proc affliction (infinite affliction)
* caused affliction to proc perks (Zenith freeze, Farah’s splinters)
* caused bow AoE to proc Farah’s splinters (explosions, steam cloud, chain lightning, extra arrows)
* caused Nocturno explosions to proc Nocturno tag, or even more explosions if surrounding targets got killed by the inital explosion
* caused affliction to deal increased damage
This was OP (except affliction damage) so it had to be fixed. **The affliction damage was just a side effect that had to get patched as well, but nothing prevents Epic from buffing affliction damage on purpose in the future**.
I think it’s true, but they also nerfed affliction damage itself, and it’s pretty sad
And 140 x 4, husk pL 163 isnt over powered?
controversial opinion: It was good to fix the perk bug. Affliction should not have been reverted, but it was clear that those builds were extremely OP- being able to kill an entire encampment wave in one bow shot, or making twine endurance able to be done without any traps.
Sure, it was fun, and enjoyable- but it made all other heroes less viable, and had it been left in the game would have made the content way more boring and tedious as players feel forced to only play with that hero if they want the greatest chance of succeeding- just like grinding in JRPG’s, or how cheating items in minecraft is fun for the first few times but then ruins the game for a lot of people.
Its a problem with the game itself, when the only fun the players have is when they’re blatantly OP, the game needs more content thats fun inherently
Yeah, either Magyst doesn’t actually know what he’s talking about, or he’s straight up lying.
1. Affliction still triggers hero perks. Cyberclops’s energy zap for example. So the “fix” probably only targeted Farrah.
2. Farrah’s perk doesn’t trigger off of the Vacuum Tube’s chain lightning or the Cloudburst’s clouds anymore, even though they’re not affliction.
3. Affliction damage itself was significantly reduced.
I think it’s a perfectly acceptable answer. Anyone that watched TikTak clear entire waves of endurance with only Farrah and the vacuum tube bow has to realize it’s not good for the game. I’m not basing that response on other horrendous bugs/glitches that should be fixed. A 5 year old could clear an encampment using it.
